Our Story

The Pawville Story

Our Story Began 2006

The Pawville story began in 2006 when Phil and Amanda Miller found a 5,000 sq ft pet store in Citrus County, FL and invested their savings and sweat equity to purchase and convert it into a pet boarding and grooming facility. From the start, they chose to focus heavily on the customer experience. This meant 1) investing heavily to train and retain high quality staff and 2) re-invest in their facility. This twin approach resulted in a satisfied and growing customer base which would provide the bedrock for future success.

In 2012

After moving to North Carolina, Phil and Amanda opened their second location in 2012. This facility followed a similar trajectory as their FL location to become the most popular pet services facility in the Topsail, NC region.

In 2015

Our Jacksonville, NC facility was added to the family when Pawville acquired the property at 471 Center St. With a solid team of loving staff and an intense focus on the quality of the customer experience, Jacksonville Pawville has developed a loyal following of customers.

Pawville Today

In 2020, Pawville began construction on Midtown Pawville (in Wilmington, NC) and acquired North Shore Pawville in Sneads Ferry, NC.  With five locations in the Southeast, Pawville continues to evolve and grow – adding service offerings and locations when these changes will help enhance the consumer experience for their human clients and their four-legged guests.

Our Staff

Stephanie is a wonderful leader for our team of animal-lovers who is always there to make sure our high standards are met, our pups get lots of attention, and our cats get plenty of hugs.  She's been with us since 2014 and is incredibly attentive to the little details that help ensure each pet has a positive experience at Pawville. She's the proud owner of a cat, bearded dragon, and a pitt/bulldog mix named Rosie that comes with an interesting story.  Rosie was being fostered by a local rescue group at Citrus Pawville.  She initially took her home for mother's day (Rosie is a mother) to spoil her on her special day.  The rest, as they say, was history as Rosie quickly worked her way into Stephanie's heart and home.

Chrissy thrives at Citrus Pawville as it gives her the opportunity to do something that she truly loves.  Her attention to detail makes her a wonderful caretaker for our pets.  She is also the creative force behind many of the fantastic pictures of our pets that appear on Facebook, Instagram, and report cards. She enjoys life with her three dogs, five guinea pigs, and two hamsters.  She loves spending time with her husband and kids going to zoos and the beach.

Cathy joined the Pawville family in 2014.  She came to us with a wealth of experience in veterinary hospitals, greyhound facilities, and horse farms.  When she's not at Pawville, she's usually on her personal farm where she raises sheep and hogs.  Her personal pets include a toad, a gecko, several turtles, a giant toroise, mini donkeys, goats, chickens, and of course, dogs.  So, yeah... taking care of animals is literaly her life!  Her favorite part of working at Pawville is seeing repeat clients and their pets as she's developed such special connections with so many of them.

Antonio's smiling face keeps all our pets and staff happy and entertained.  Antonio believes there's no such thing as having too many dogs, so he has 4 dogs at home in addition to all "his" dogs at Citrus Pawville.  His favorite part of working at Pawville is the close bonds he forms with our pets.  When he's not at Pawville, he enjoys playing guitar, cooking, and spending time with his dogs.
