Our story
What started as one local haven has grown into nine thriving villages, each inspired by the belief that exceptional care comes from genuine connection.
Pet Philosophy
We treat every dog and cat like family prioritizing safety, cleanliness, and compassionate, individualized care across boarding, daycare, and grooming. Our trained team uses positive handling, transparent communication, and consistent routines to create a low stress, enriching experience. We exist to send pets home happier and healthier and give owners peace of mind, every time.
Our Story Began - 2004
Pawville’s story began in 2004, when Phil and Amanda met, married shortly after, and started dreaming about building something meaningful together. It was Amanda’s idea to open a pet resort—a fact she still proudly reminds Phil of—and her background as a veterinary technician played a key role in shaping what Pawville would become.
In 2007, they found a 5,000-square-foot pet store in Citrus County, Florida and poured their savings, time, and heart into transforming it into their first boarding and grooming facility. From day one, Pawville was built around one simple belief: if you take exceptional care of pets and the people who love them, everything else will follow. That meant investing deeply in staff training, retaining passionate team members, and continually reinvesting in the spaces entrusted with pets’ care.
In 2012
As Citrus Pawville flourished, Phil and Amanda relocated to North Carolina, opening Surf City Pawville in 2012. The location quickly became a trusted name for pet care in the Topsail region. Around this time, Phil completed his MBA at UNC Wilmington, where the vision for something bigger—a connected network of trusted villages—began to take shape.
By 2021
Growth followed thoughtfully and intentionally. Jacksonville Pawville joined the family in 2015 and expanded in 2017. North Shore Pawville was added in 2020 through the acquisition of Salty Paws Pet Resort, followed by Midtown Pawville—Pawville’s first ground-up build—in Southern Wilmington. Scotts Hill Pawville joined in 2021, further strengthening Pawville’s presence across the Cape Fear region. Each new village was built on the same promise: consistent care, familiar standards, and a welcoming experience that feels like home.
Pawville Today
Today, Pawville proudly operates nine locations across three states, including Pawleys Island and Northchase, creating a strong and trusted footprint throughout the communities we serve. In 2024, the Pawville family expanded further with the addition of two Paw Springs Veterinary Hospital locations, reinforcing our commitment to being a true one-stop shop for pet parents—where boarding, daycare, grooming, and veterinary care all work together under one trusted philosophy.
As Pawville continues to grow, our focus remains the same: creating safe, enriching environments, investing in the people who care for pets every day, and building villages where pet parents can feel confident knowing their pets are truly cared for—every visit, every stay, every stage of life.
