Boarding For All

Covid Puppies

It’s no secret that Covid 19 impacted the world in many ways. Pet, especially dog, ownership skyrocketed during quarantine, creating a new wave of pet owners and an environment in which no pet care professional has ever seen before. When the world started to open back up, we saw an opportunity to better serve our clientele by adjusting our practices and growing in a way like never before.

One Size Doesn’t Fit All

At Pawville, we started to notice that puppies born, or dogs adopted during quarantine were likely unable to socialize with other dogs, humans or outside environmental factors for extended periods of time. After lockdown was over, due to no fault of their own, pet owners started to notice a lack of confidence when in the outside world. This would manifest in behaviors like reactivity when seeing other animals or humans, consistent barking during car rides or vet/groomer visits. These behaviors turned everyday tasks that were normally fun into exhausting chores.

When conducting evaluations for new clients we also would notice these behaviors. Compared to pre covid times, we had eval dogs that would take 2-3 more visits than usual to warm up to staff or other dogs. These guests needed time to learn those valuable social skill from their other furry peers and gain confidence to interact with other humans aside from their caretakers.

We created a role, Canine Training Manager, that focuses on teaching our staff how to read canine behavior and implement tactics to make daycare a welcoming, safe and happy environment for as many types of personalities as possible. Our Canine Training Manager can also work directly with clients whose pets are having issues adjusting to our daycare group or other outside environmental factors. This training is geared towards creating confidence in your dog when interacting with different scenarios and factors that may trigger them.

Boarding For All

After adjusting our daycare program by working with our Canine Training Manager, we took our “One Size Doesn’t Fit All” approach and applied it to boarding. We started to focus on creating room options and add on’s that gave parents the ability to tailor their pets’ experiences to their specific wants and needs. Guests that are more energetic have the ability to add on daycare, personal playtimes and even in room stimulating options. For our more nervous visitors, we have created cottages and quieter areas in our facilities for a more home-style boarding experience. Accessibility is better than ever as clients have live webcams in daycare areas, daily complimentary report cards, additional updates with each add on service and private webcam room options.

It Doesn’t Stop Here

No matter what the world throws at us we are dedicated to constantly improving our services by continuing our education, learning from other professionals, and taking suggestions from our clients. Every new facility, play yard, remodel allows us to continually elevate our top tier services for all types of pets and their individual personalities.
